anony. AR(?) Didrachm, c. 310-300 BC. Neapolis mint. Fourrée (?). Obv. Helmeted head of beardless Mars right; behind, oak-spray. Rev. Horse's head right on base inscribed ROMANO; behind, corn-ear. Cr.- (cf. 13/1: head of Mars left). AR. g. 6.89 mm. 19.00 RRRR. VF/About VF. This enigmatic type, with Mars facing opposite to normal, is probably a contemporary unofficial issue. Apparently the second specimen known: cf. M. Bahrfeldt, 'Le Monete Romano-Campane', 1899, about a specimen in Bignami Collection, Campidoglio.
