CHINA. Kweichow. Dollar, ND (1949). PCGS AU-50 Secure Holder.
L&M-612; K-758; Y-433; L&M-612. Round window. RARE. Three at this level, with three finer at PCGS and NGC. It is worth noting that the grading services have not encountered the coin in mint state to date, with the finest known graded as AU-55. Struck during the highly turbulent late 1940s, the coin offered here was one of the last produced prior to the Communist victory in October of 1949. Much like the earlier designed Kweichow Auto Dollar struck in 1928, the Bamboo Dollar is universally considered one of the best world crown designs of the entire 20th century, and is highly desirable as such. A coin that is as attractive as it is rare, all of the intended design is fully exhibited on both sides, with the pavilion fabulously rendered in exquisite detail. This elusive type Dollar is missing from most collections, and generally is not available in any condition. The opportunity to acquire one of the finest known surviving examples is an event you will not want to miss out on. Sharply struck and highly attractive. PCGS AU-50 Secure Holder.

Estimate: $90000.00- $110000.00
