CHINA. Szechuan-Shensi Soviet. 20 Cents, (1932). NGC AU-58.
L&M-894; K-805; Y-508; WS-1337. First date of a two-year issue and far and away the more difficult date to locate. The reference catalogs all indicate a large price differential between the two dates. Struck for the China Soviet Republic, often referred to in historical sources as the Jiangxi Soviet (after its largest component territory, the Jiangxi-Fujian Soviet). Established in November of 1931 by future Communist Party of China leader Mao Zedong, General Zhu De and others. The Soviet Republic only lasted until 1937 at which time the threat of Japanese invasion eclipsed the urgency of the Communist cause, and a united front was pursued under the leadership of Chiang Kai-shek. A coin with significant historical and numismatic interest. The specific piece offered is quite attractive for the issue, with most issues showing far more weakness than seen here. Attractive overall color and very little wear. Don't miss the opportunity to add this exceptional coin to your collection. NGC AU-58.

Estimate: $1000.00- $1500.00
