CHINA. Hunan. Gilt Nanking Garrison Medal, ND (1912). EXTREMELY FINE.
51 mm (excluding ring); 7.96 gms. Following the overthrow of the Manchu Dynasty in 1911, Huang Xing set up the Nanjing Provisional Government in April of 1912. Yuan Shih-kai subsequently became the President of the new Chinese Republic and announced in June of 1912 the abolition of the Nanjing Provisional Government. The medal offered here is a vestige of the short lived (2 months) Nanjing Provisional Government. Extremely well preserved with light tone. EXTREMELY FINE.
