CAMBODIA. Piastre, 1860. NGC PROOF-62.
Bruce-9; Lec-88; Maz-499; Dav-148; Daniel-P88i/j. Plain edge. King Norodom facing left with the royal seal on the reverse. Howard Daniel lists two strikings, one in Paris (P88i) with a mintage of 10, and an additional striking in Phnom Penh (P88j) with a mintage of 50 from the same dies. The only indication of the later strikings in Phnom Penh would be die corrosion, and while there are abrasions in the fields of the coin, nothing that would suggest corrosion. In either case, a VERY RARE coin with a combined population of two at this level, with two examples finer (MS63) at NGC and PCGS. Lightly toned with highly reflective fields and a needle sharp portrait. NGC PROOF-62.
Estimate: $9000.00- $11000.00
