HONG KONG. 10 Cents, 1868. NGC PROOF-63.
KM-6.3; Pridmore-60 (unlisted as a Proof); Remick-Y4 (unlisted as a Proof); C-18. Of the HIGHEST RARITY and the only example in proof that we know of outside of museum collections. A constituent part of a cased proof set that first appeared in September of 2007 at Spink Auction #7023 as lot #236, and now being disbursed. Much like the other coins from this legendary proof set, the piece offered here reveals a past spent in the custom made case. Moderate tone graces the mirrored surfaces of this great rarity, with brighter lustrous surfaces across Queen Victoria's cheek and neck. Sharp denticles surround the periphery of both sides, with exquisite detail all through the queen's hair and tiara. For the collector attempting to assemble a set containing every proof issue released by the Hong Kong mint, this diminutive 10 Cent coin is your one and only option. NGC PROOF-63.

Estimate: $5000.00- $7000.00
