CHINA--MISCELLANEOUS. Shun Yee Savings Bank. 100 Coppers, ND (1909). P-NL. Good.
(S/M#H133-10) One of the more popular designs for vertical format currencies of China which is also quite rare and seldom offered publicly. The note shows with great vignettes with the face exhibiting the well liked facing dragons at upper left and right with pear of wisdom between. Seas below and nice brown inks creating the frame. Back design seen with five bats with two at top and bottom and a single at center over character ochre under-prints. This is one of the more circulated examples we have handled but the detail is still quite bold for the technical grade. Some tape repairs and edge and internal splits along with thinning and lifted paper. Good.
Estimate: $2500.00- $3500.00
