Meiji Yen Year 7 (1874) MS63 NGC, KM-YA25.1, JNDA 01-10. Variety with the spiral on pearl curling in counter-clockwise direction. The first-year issue of the new Yen type after none were struck for a period following the 1870 1 Yen. A very appealing coin for the grade. The luster is fully original, and brilliant, with light golden patina and minor contact marks. A conditionally very rare issue. This piece is the single finest example certified by PCGS and NGC combined, with none finer.
Estimate: 15000-20000 USD
