Meiji gold 20 Yen Year 42 (1909) MS64 NGC, KM-Y34, JNDA 01-6. A virtually twin, in appearance, to the previous 1907 20 Yen. The strike is bold, the luster smooth, and satiny, and the surfaces display only a few tiny marks. Conditionally rare, and seldom offered, with only a single piece certified finer by NGC. The first we have offered since 2005. The JNDA catalog shows this date as the rarest of all Meiji issue of this type.
Estimate: 4000-4500 USD
