Rama V copper Pattern Baht ND (1876-1900) MS64 Brown NGC, KM-Pn33. An extremely rare off-metal pattern striking for this highly collected denomination. The only example we have seen, this example retains glowing orange-red originality around the protected areas, while the fields have evenly dulled to brown and hold delicate bluish iridescence. The strike is extremely sharp and visually insignificant ticks are the only contributing factors to the grade. While the 1/2 Baht issue of the design is certainly less desirable, we do note a circulated specimen of that denomination selling nearly a decade ago in our 2006 New York auction for $4,750 hammer. This piece, far nicer in terms of condition and more elite in terms of collectibility, should have a chance to eclipse that offering by several multiples.

Estimate: 9000-13000 USD
