WORLD COINS, NETHERLANDS EAST INDIES, Willem I, Cent (1837)/ VOC Duit, 1790 mule, crowned shield, rev. monogram and date, 3.53g/12h (Scholten 747; KM. –). Nearly very fine, extremely rare £200-300

---

Although apparently struck from dies made almost 50 years apart, duits dated 1790 were reintroduced in 1827 and also struck in 1834-5 (Scholten 656). The obverse die is normally paired with a reverse dated 1837 (Scholten 727). Both dies were made at the Utrecht mint, though the obverse was used at Sourabaya (Java)
