Struck circa 830-837/8. + EPELSTANI (S retrograde and horizontal), large barred A / + EADNOD MO, cross pattée, pellets in angles. Naismith E36.2c (this coin); SCBI 30 (American), 229 (same dies); cf. BMC 9; North 440; SCBC 950 (this coin illustrated). Near EF, mottled tone. Rare.
