ANGLO-SAXON, Secondary Sceattas. Circa 710-720. AR Sceat (11.5mm, 1.18 g). Series G, type 3a. Mint in Northumbria (probably Eoferwic [York]). Diademed head right; cross pommée before; [pellets behind?] / Standard with central pellet-in-annulet, saltires in angles, pellets between saltires; pellets and crosses in margin. Abramson 21.20; cf. SCBI 63 (BM), 431-4; North 43; SCBC 800. EF, good metal.
