SASANIAN KINGDOM: Yazdigerd II, 438-457, lead pashiz (1.62g), G-166var, standard bust right / fire-altar & two attendants, all with dotted square, large crescent above, Fine to VF, RRR. All Sasanian lead coinage is very rare, and has never been adequately studied or catalogued, with new varieties discovered from time to time. It is likely that they were used mostly in the region of the Persian Gulf.
