GREAT MONGOLS: temp. Chingiz Khan, 1206-1227, AV dinar (4.11g), Samarqand, AH640, A-B1967, totally anonymous, without even the caliph, clear date in obverse margin, mint name name below obverse field (and likely repeated in reverse margin), VF, RRR. This is the first reported example of this type with a legible date, and could be assigned to the period of Töregene, who was nominal ruler AH639-644, after the death of Ögedei. The only other dated dinar from her reign is of Dihistan AH640, but of type A-1966 with the title qa'an (Zeno-75012).
