CHEN: Anonymous, 557-589, AE cash (3.37g), H-13.18, tai huo liu zhu ("large coin six zhu"), issued by Emperor Xuan on Chen in 579 AD, flan crack, Fine to VF, S, ex Zhao Quanzhi Collection. This coin with the beautiful calligraphy, displayed at the left, is considered to be the "crown jewel " of Southern Dynasty coins. The coin was originally worth ten regular wu zhu coins, but because of popular discontent was revalued to one wu zhu.
