Republic silver Proof Essai Peso 189(4) PR58 NGC, Santiago mint, KM-Unl (KM152.1 for type). Golden-brown tone adorns the edges, with some light mottling in the obverse centers; "Essai" appears in small letters near the dentilation at 4 o'clock. The reverse exhibits a similar appearance, with the addition of a small patch of blue tone in the center. The date is missing the final digit, and with the series' adoption in 1895, this piece is presumed to have been a trial from the previous year; very rare as such, and the only example we have seen. Accompanied by a legendary pedigree and certainly a piece of great importance for the Chilean specialist or advanced collector of world crown-sized issues.Ex. Millennia Collection.
