Louis XIII Ecu of 60 Sols 1642-A (Rose) AU58 NGC, Paris mint, engraver Jean Warin, Gad-51, KM120.1. Obv. Laureate and draped bust of Louis XIII right with long curl. Rev Crowned arms with rose above. A fabulous example of this conditionally rare Ecu type. The strike is superb, with gray toning and considerable remaining luster over surfaces exhibiting only minor marks. One of the nicer examples of this type we have seen.
