Anne Shilling 1703-VIGO MS62 NGC, KM517.1, ESC-1131, S-3586. Second Bust, Pre-Union type. An alluring example of this singular type, struck with silver captured from the Spanish at Vigo Bay and featuring the bust of Queen Anne. Mint State and sharply-struck throughout, save for the usually soft reverse center, with pleasing champagne luster beneath steel-gray patina. Somewhat conservatively graded, as this piece lacks even a hint of friction, and conditionally scarce, since these coins are rarely encountered finer than XF.Ex.
