PAEONIAN KINGDOM. Patraus (ca. 335-315 BC). AR tetradrachm (24mm, 11.95 gm, 2h). Laureate head of Apollo right / ΠΑ-[ΤΡΑΟΥ], Paeonian cavalryman, wearing crested Attic helmet and full armor, on horseback galloping right and spearing fallen Persian cavalryman, who holds round shield. Cf. Paeonian Hoard 330 ff. (similar obverse die). An exceptional and rare variant, struck from dies of unusually good style and attractively toned. NGC XF 4/5 - 5/5.
