PARTHIAN KINGDOM. Phraates IV (ca. 38-2 BC). AR drachm (18mm, 3.99 gm, 12h). Laodicea. Diademed and draped bust of Phraates IV left, wart on forehead, wearing segmented necklet; to right, eagle left, holding wreath in beak / Partially blundered inscription, archer seated right on throne, holding bow; below bow, monogram. Sellwood 52.16. Shore 283. Rare mint. An absolutely stunning example, with needle-sharp imagery delivered by a powerful strike, and mirror-like fields providing a decidedly "proof" effect.
