Dutch Colony - United Amsterdam Company Real 1601 Fine Details (Holed) NGC, Dordrecht mint (Holland), Sch-4 (R2), Salv-14. Neatly holed, and even with the mentioned damage, a very handsome specimen with gray-brown surfaces that reflect honest circulation and are absent abusive collector handling. Like all the issues from this short-lived series, a great and desirable rarity, with the cataloger of the Salvesen Collection noting the existence of only 17 specimens; we have only seen one example sell in the last decade, that piece being cataloged as Extremely Fine by Baldwin's and realizing an impressive £2,200 in 2006.
