Republic bronze Piefort 50 Centimes 1896 MS62 Brown NGC, Paris mint, KM-PE1a var., no Essai below date on reverse, MCHOR on edge. Reddish-brown patina, with traces of original golden mint color. The strike is nice and a single prominent reverse contact mark prevents a higher grade. An extremely rare type and the only example certified by NGC, with none by PCGS. We can reference no other examples of this type.
