James I (1406-37) gold Demy ND VF30 NGC, Type II, S-5190, Burns-5 var (Fig. 437). Crown mm, lion rampant within lozenge, legend with lis and saltire stops / St. Andrew's cross flanked by lis in a fleured tressure of six arcs with large, open quatrefoils in spandrels and saltire stops. The only difference between this example and the variety referenced in Burns is at the end of the obverse legend, which in this case ends in a single saltire rather than a lis flanked by saltires.From the RichLyn Collection
