Republic 5 Centesimos 1840 XF45 Brown NGC, Montevideo mint, KM1. A choice example of this crudely produced, rare issue, with even brown surfaces that show little actual wear. While not graded as high as the last example we sold (an NGC AU58 for $3,525), perhaps even more desirable, as the country, date on the obverese and denomination on the reverse are sharper as a result of a bolder strike on a better flan. Certain to catch the eye of the specialist in the series.
