Salzburg. City (Anton Koppenwallner) gold Klippe 10 Ducats 1628 (1928) MS67 NGC, KM-Unl, Macho-Unl (cf. 277). An attractive and expertly-produced klippe commemorating the 300th anniversary of the consecration of the cathedral in Salzburg. Dually dated 1628 and 1928 on the obverse and 1612 in Roman numerals on the reverse for the accession of Mark Sittich von Hohenems, the Prince-Archbishop of Salzburg who commissioned the building of the cathedral. A pair of small hallmarks are noted at the base of the obverse module, an elephant's head to the left of the arms and "986" for the fineness to the right. Very rare.
