Republic Type V countermark 8 Reales ND (1846) VG8 NGC, San Jose mint, KM59 (this coin plated in the Spain, Portugal and the New World edition). Clearly undergraded in the cataloguer's opinion, base coin nice Fine, countermark nice Very Fine, well struck and most attractive. Type V bifacial countermark on a Guatemala 8 Reales 1752/1 G-J. Authorized by decree of October 15, and placed upon cobs of acceptable quality. The KM plate coin of this rare issue, certainly among the finest known with most of the few other examples noted holed and/or damaged and with an outstanding pedigree.Ex.
