Republic gold 100 Francs 1879-A MS65 NGC, Paris mint, KM832, Fr-590. Avidly collected as a series, and especially desirable in this rare Gem designation, with no examples of the entire type thus far graded at the MS66 level by NGC and no dates existing where there are enough MS65s to satisfy collector demand. The current example, fully qualifying at this lofty grade, showcases bright orange-gold color and scintillating luster with very few marks. Another MS65, one of only three graded by NGC for the date, sold for an impressive $19,975 in our August 2014 Signature auction.
