George I gold 1/2 Guinea 1726 MS63 PCGS, Royal mint, KM560, S-3637. Ex. Jacob Y. Terner Collection and Norweb Collection. A beautiful specimen, with relatively deep yellow toning and nearly flawless surfaces. A die break is noted on the center-right of the reverse, but it barely distracts the eye at all. Currently the single finest graded example of this date by PCGS, with none appearing on the NGC Population Report (however, a quick search of auction archives reveals that NGC has graded at least a couple of examples of this date; as they were Details-graded, though, they do not appear on the Population Report). A lovely piece overall, with two exceptional pedigrees as an added bonus. From the RichLyn Collection
