Olkusz. Stephen Bathory Taler 1580 XF45 NGC, Gumowski 725 (RR), Kopicki 550 (R8), H-Cz 638 (R7), Davenport-8426, of highest rarity. Obv. Crowned and armored half-length bust of Stephen Bathory right, holding scepter in right hand, with left hand on sword hilt. Rev. Crown dividing date 15-80, with arms of Poland and Lithuania, and small arms of the Crown Treasurer Jakob Rokossovsky, below. Well struck for the issue, with gray-russet toning and few marks of individual notice. We sold another example of this rarity, graded VF30 by NGC, in our most recent Long Beach Signature auction for $64,625. This example, with stronger central details, should certainly attract greater interest.

Estimate: 60000-70000 USD
