Catherine II gold 10 Roubles 1767 CПБ AU55 NGC, St. Petersburg mint, Bit-17 (R1) variety with inverted П as in C∐Б, Diakov-159A (R3), KM-C79a, Fr-129a. This variety not listed in Mikhailovich, Ilin & Tolstoy, Petrov, Severin, Uzdennikov, also unpictured in Diakov. Obv. Crowned bust of Catherine II right. Rev. Cross of four crowned shields with date in the angles. Well struck, with bright yellow-gold color and considerable remaining original mint luster. Light handling marks are noted on both sides, but nothing of an egregious nature. An extremely rare variety and we can find no previous record of sale.
