RELIGIOUS TOKENS & AMULETS. AV Fantasy Token (37mm, 42.02 g, 1h). Imitating a Sasanian drachm. Bust right, wearing elaborate headdress and ornate garment with flames at edges; pseudo-Pahlavi legend around / Elaborate fire altar with simian-like attendants; bust right in flames; additional simian-like attendants on either side of altar shaft; pseudo-Pahlavi legend around. Unpublished in the standard references. As made, bright surfaces, some hairlines, evidence of possibly having been places in a bezel. A most unusual item of cross-cultural interest.
