PHOENICIA, Arados. Circa 246/5-168/7 BC. AR Tetradrachm (29.5mm, 17.11 g, 12h). In the name and types of Alexander III of Macedon. Dated CY 41 (219/8 BC). Head of Herakles right, wearing lion skin / Zeus Aëtophoros seated left; palm tree in left field, AP monogram below throne, [41 (in Phoenician) and ShT (in Aramaic) in exergue]. Duyrat 1206–13 (obv. die D17); Price 3381; DCA 754. Good VF, toned, a few minor marks.

Although the date is off the flan on this example, it is struck from the same dies as CNG E-321, lot 216, where the date is clear.
