SYRIA, Seleucis and Pieria. Laodicea ad Mare. Macrinus. AD 217-218. AR Tetradrachm (28mm, 13.64 g, 12h). Laureate, draped, and cuirassed bust right / Eagle standing facing, head and tail left, with wings spread, holding wreath in beak; star between legs. Prieur 1184 (same obv. die). EF, toned with slight iridescence. Apparently a scarce obverse legend variant – only four recorded by Prieur, three additional in CoinArchives.
