LOCRIS. Locri Opuntii (Epicnemidii). AR Hemidrachm or Triobol (2.76 gms), ca. 300-275 B.C. NGC EF, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5.
SNG Cop-62. Helmeted head of Athena right; Reverse: Locrian Ajax advancing right with sword and shield, on the inside of the shield is a hippocamp and below to the right is a trident. Obverse is a bit off center but the entire effigy is on flan, reverse is well centered with full ethnic. medium toning with a few colorful hues in deep devices on good metal with no granularity. A nice little minor with a popular reverse motif. NGC EF, Strike: 4/5 Surface: 4/5.
