BOHEMIA. Cast Uniface Jacob's Dream at Bethel Silver Medal, 1544. VERY FINE.
54.7 mm; 31.2 gms (including bezel). Gilt and chased. Reverse of Katz-299, the Jacob and Rachel Medal by Milicz. Jacob resting on a stone at Bethel envisions angels ascending to and descending from Heaven on a stairway (shown here as a ladder). Legend AD DVO LVSTRA DVOS BIS ANNOS SANCTVS IACOB MDXXXXIIII around. Mounted in an antique silver rope-style bezel. Apparently a reverse was intended to be inserted into the bezel as the mounting tabs on the reverse have not yet been folded. Scratches on the reverse. VERY FINE.
