FRANCE. Silver Art-Nouveau Medal for Jewelry, ND (c. 1900). CHOICE ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
33.1 mm; 7.0 gms. By L. Coudray. A young woman's face surrounded by flowers. Repousse; the back an incuse impression of the obverse. During this period, a number of medalists found work, or tried to, in the jewelry trade. Most small art-nouveau medals are almost jewelry, needing only to be made wearable. The charm of this piece still as great as it was a century or more ago. Lovely brownish-gray matte patina. CHOICE ALMOST UNCIRCULATED.
