ITALY. 2 Centesimi, 1896-R. PCGS MS-65 BN Secure Holder.
KM-30; Gig-54; Mont-69. RARE lower mintage year, even more so in this state if preservation. Sharply struck giving full definition to almost every whisker of arguably the finest mustache to ever be immortalized on a coin. Glossy dark chocolate brown surfaces are undisturbed without any contact or handling marks to be found. The reverse has some small patches in the central field where the strong underlying luster is struggling to break through the deep toning and gives a pleasing oxblood hue. An exceptional example.
