MACEDONIAN KINGDOM. Alexander III the Great (336-323 BC). AR tetradrachm (14.20 gm). Posthumous issue from Paeonia, possibly at Astibus, ca. 300-286. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion-skin headdress / Zeus seated left, legs draped, holding eagle and scepter, eight-pointed star before. Price 644. Compact flan. Lightly toned with underlying luster. Old scratch in reverse field, otherwise Very Fine and attractive.
