THRACE. Odessus. Time of Mithradates VI (ca. 125-65 BC). AR tetradrachm (16.25 gm). Struck ca. 80-72/1 BC in the name and types of Alexander III the Great. Head of Heracles right, wearing lion skin headdress / Zeus seated left, holding eagle and scepter ΔH in left field, star below throne, OΔH below throne. Cf. Price 1192 (no star). Callataÿ group 3. Overstruck on another tetradrachm, with some of undertype visible on reverse. NGC MS 5/5 - 4/5.
