AEOLIS. Myrina. Ca. 155-145 BC. AR tetradrachm (34mm, 16.47 gm, 12h). Head of Apollo right, wearing laurel wreath, hair falling in three long curls at neck / Apollo standing right, holding phiale in right hand, filleted laurel branch in left; monogram and MYPINAIΩN to left, omphalos and amphora at feet; all within laurel wreath. Sacks Issue 29, obv. die 33. SNG von Aulock 1665. Well-centered on a large flan and struck from dies of exceptional style. NGC AU 3/5 - 4/5, Fine Style.This variety is apparently quite rare: A survey of more than 200 Myrina tetradrachms sold at auctions since 2012 turned up only one other example with this monogram type.
