Republic Type I Countermark 1 Real ND (1841) Fine - Pierced, San Jose mint, KM-unl. Base coin, Fine and pierced at 1 o'clock, counterstamp good Fine. A Mexico 1 Real 1828 Go-MJ countermarked with a radiant six pointed star and silver plug removed, the usual test mark seen between "REPUBLICA" and "MEXICANA" on the eagle side. A very rare denomination for this countermarked issue, this undercoin unlisted in Murillo thus quite desirable despite the noted piercing (not to be confused with the hole resulting from the removal of the silver plug).From the Pura Vida Collection, Part I
