Token 16 Piece Enticing Assemblage, Numerous less-common tokens reside within this group. A June 1879 Santa Elena CuNi is most atypical for any country ! An "elephant" token, a scalloped brass with large bee featured, a smaller brass with elaborate locomotive on both sides and no legends, a brilliant mint-state Railroad 10 Centavos, a Punta Arenas 10 Centavos which is perhaps silver and certainly rare, a copper La Union Mina of 10 Centavos is reportedly quite elusive, and a black vulcanite uniface 5 Centavos is unusual for Central American nations. A few others seem somewhat mundane but no such remark can be made about a copper flan about the size of the 1865- 1874 circulating coppers which is blank but looks heavily circulated except for its VERY clear impression of the official lion countermark used by CR around 1850 -1857. Do note the countermark on this piece, carefully hammered, is not the later 1889 style with small letters beneath the lion; this is not otherwise known to us nor was it to Dana. Quality is typical. Ex. Dana Roberts Collection. Sold as is, NO Return.

Estimate: 600-800 USD
