Louis XII (1498-1514) gold Écu d'or au porc-épic ND XF Details (Surface Hairlines) NGC, Tours mint, from 19 November 1507, Fr-325, Dup-655. + LVdOVICVS : dEI : GRACIA : FRANCORVM : REX (castle), crowned arms of France flanked by two porcupines, a pellet beneath the 6th letter / + XPS : VINCIT : XPS : REGNAT : XPS : IMPERAT (castle), cross patonce with L's and porcupines in alternating quarters, a pellet beneath the 6th letter. An evenly circulated example, lightly cleaned in the past with the ghost of an old crease.
