Venezuela
A pair of Order of the Liberator (Order of the Bust of Bolivar) Second Class Badges, Werlich pg. 441, Fig. 1324, Ross/Stahl-VE22. Established 1854, the order was not created until 1880. It is given to both civilians and military, both foreign and domestic, for exceptional service to Venezuela. Obv. Gilt silver, with oval center medallion with a bust of Bolivar surrounded by a blue enameled band and all surrounded by 28 rays. Rev. The same design as the obverse, but the coat-of-arms of Venezuela replaces Bolivar's portrait. Both examples have the original sash ribbon. Both are in XF-AU condition, with central toning on one badge.
