Zapotec Urn from Mexico, ca. 100 – 500 AD. Zapotec Urn from Mexico. An excellent Zapotec figural urn from Oaxaca, Mexico, ca. 100 - 500 AD. It is 7" high and depicts a seated "Companion" displaying the Glyph "C" on his headdress. He is depicted with the offering of a human trophy head in his lap and is adorned with a necklace, ear spools and bracelets matching the headdress. Nice paint remnants and strong mineral deposits.
