The 'Kroisos' type coinage is one of the most known of all ancient Greek coinage. King Kroisos was one of the pioneers in early struck coinage. The issues began in circa 550 BC and contained light as heavy series and different nominations. The heavy stater of Kroisos in Gold and the double siglos in silver are the most popular issues.
