KINGS of MACEDON. Perseus, 179-168 BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 31mm, 16.76 g 12), Pella or Amphipolis, circa 173-171. Diademed head of Perseus to right. Rev. ΒΑΣΙΛΕΩΣ ΠΕΡΣΕΩΣ Eagle with spread wings standing right on thunderbolt; above, monogram of ΜΑΡ; to right, monogram of ΑΥ; between legs, monogram of ΑΝ; all within an oak wreath with a plow below. Mamroth, Perseus 25. SNG Oxford 3276. Well struck, with a fine portrait and an attractive dark patina. Nearly extremely fine.
