ATTICA, Athens. Circa 430s BC. Tetradrachm (Silver, 25mm, 16.48 g 9). Head of Athena to right, wearing Attic helmet adorned with olive leaves and palmette; on cheek, countermark of an Aramaic letter in a square indent. Rev. ΑΘΕ Owl standing right, head facing front; behind, crescent and olive sprig; all within incuse square. Van Alfen, AJN 14 (2002), pl. 12, 3 (same countermark). Deep test cut on the reverse. Slightly rough surfaces with traces of dirt as found, otherwise, very fine.
