MYSIA, Kyzikos (?). Circa 550-500 BC. Obol (Silver, 9mm, 1.06 g). Head of an eagle to right, holding tunny in its beak. Rev. Rough incuse square. Klein -. SNG Copenhagen -. SNG Paris -. SNG von Aulock -. Von Fritze -. Apparently unique and unpublished. Darkly toned. Good very fine.
This is a very interesting little coin: the tunny in the eagle's beak makes an attribution to Kyzikos plausible, for which it would be a hitherto unattested type.
